Savannah Arctic is a combination of the recessive savannah mutation and the heterozygous incomplete dominant arctic mutation. As hatchlings, this combination has a crisp black-and-white appearance, with bold black-bordered blotches, aberrant neck flags and a speckled background. The face pattern has white borders and is often elongated. The arctic mutation creates a higher concentration of melanin at the borders of the saddles and surrounds them with white lines.
