Sable Chocolate is a combination of the recessive sable mutation and the recessive swiss chocolate mutation. This combination is significantly darker than a normal swiss chocolate, but with sable characteristics. The swiss chocolate gene creates a darker headstamp due to the higher concentration of melanin on the head. The sable mutation creates a higher amount of iridescence compared to other morphs. Iridophores are responsible for the reflective qualities and hues.
